Margaret A. Kocorek (nee Kressman) of Garland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the age of 92 after several months of declining health. Born in Lorain, Ohio, Margaret graduated in 1947 from Clearview High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the drum corps, choir, theater group, and debate team. She married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Carl Kocorek in 1949. They were married 72 years and were devoted to each other and their children and grandchildren. Margaret was employed at Powers Elementary in Amherst, Ohio as secretary to the principal, retiring in 1991. Margaret was an avid gardener, winning several "Landscape of the Month" awards, and was the treasurer of the Spade and Hoe Garden Club. Margaret and Carl loved to travel, and they took many cruises and mystery trips with the Garland Senior Center. She was a member of a line dance group at the Senior Center and enjoyed performing in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. A parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Richardson, she was also a member of the Circle of Friends. A lifelong member of a pinochle club with her best friends from high school, Margaret also enjoyed crafts, puzzles of all kinds and knew almost every answer to Jeopardy. But by far, her favorite activity was getting together with her family, laughing together and playing pinochle. Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Kocorek, her father, Charles Kressman, mother, Barbara Kressman, brothers John and Michael Kresman, sisters Anne Towne, Susan Huber, Olga Tymms, Helen Oros, Barbara Thomas and grandson, Michael Kocorek.
