Shirley Jo Odom, 81 of Mesquite, TX, passed away on Sunday May 1, 2022, of natural causes. Born in Rockdale, TX, to Jack and Katie McFalls on September 17, 1940. Shirley met then married the love of her life, Ray Odom, on October 22, 1965. In 1967, they moved to Mesquite, TX, where Shirley started working for Central Freight Lines up until her retirement in 2003. Then, she and Ray began enjoying their favorite pastime of traveling and camping with many of their family and friends. Shirley had a passion for reading, shopping, playing games, and preserving her family memories through scrapbooking. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband. She also leaves behind their four children: A.J. (Rebecca) Becvar of Greenwood, AR; Jana (John) Riley of Garland, TX; Bryan (Brandi) Odom of Mesquite, TX; and Doug (Jamie) Odom of Fate, TX. Also, her grandkids Brandon, Larry, Chase, Noah, Renee, Brooke, Bryce, Brenden, Rayleigh, Garrett and Mya. Plus, her six great-grandkids Max, Dawson, Everett, Emersyn, Ivy and Brooks. The viewing will be on Sunday May 8, 2022, at Eastgate Funeral Home 1910 Eastgate Drive Garland, TX 75041, from 1-3 p.m. An all-day celebration of life for Shirley and Ray will take place on Saturday June 25, 2022, at Bedrock RV Park 1995 County Road 1803 Grand Saline, TX 75140.
