David R. Waggoner, age 70, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2022. He was born June 20, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. David honorably served his country in the United States Navy and often talked about time spent in Cuba. His love for his country and his family was evident to all who knew him. David was a devoted son. giving steadfast love and attention to his mother. He cared for his mother until he was no longer able to do so. David was preceded in death by his father and his maternal grandparents. He is survived by: his mother, Evelyn Ruth Ivey of Mesquite, Texas: his uncle, Luther S. Cox, also of Mesquite; and his godmother, Willer Denison of Quitman, Texas. In the last years of his life, David was lovingly cared for by his mother, a caring and devoted neighbor (Sharon Zackery) with support from her family, friends and neighbors as well as a compassionate team of professionals. David will be inurned at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. FOR MY SON Although we seem so far apart Son, you are always in my heart You filled my life with so much joy To me you will always be my precious boy, A little while shall pass and then We will see each other once-again.
