Cheryl Elizabeth Dingman

These are days of great sorrow. Persevering and battling through escalating health issues, Cheryl Elizabeth Dingman, 68, lost her battles on October 29, 2021, at UTSW Clements Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Cheryl was born on July 26, 1953, at Carswell Airforce Base in Fort Worth, Texas, to Stanley and Peggy Maronde. Early on, it was apparent that she embodied joie de vivre and enjoyed a profound engagement with the world. Throughout her life, she showed her spark to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. It was her faith, her family, her friends, that ignited and fed this spark. This was most evident in her role as caretaker - as mother - to everyone, a role for which she never seeked thanks or recognition. All who knew her do not have a memory of a time when she wasn't, in some way, mothering them. Cheryl married James Dingman (you can call him Jim) in Longmont, Colorado, on January 8, 1980. That's 41 years, but he will tell you that is too short a time. We would all tell you that our time with Cheryl ended much too early. It was written: "The life we receive is not short, but we make it so, nor do we have any lack of it, but are wasteful of it…life if you know how to use it, is long." As much as it might pain us to admit, she lived full and she lived long; she knew how to live. Each moment was compassion. Each moment was love. Each moment her spark shone brightly. We all wish to see and to experience that spark again. Cheryl, to you - for you - we all say: We will miss you, our sympathetic and compassionate friend; We will miss you, our loving grandmother; We will miss you, our devoted and ardent sister; We will miss you, our cherished and tender mother; I will miss you, my treasured and beloved wife. Cheryl is preceded in death by her mother Peggy, sister Melodie, brother Gordon, daughter Leslie, and son Brian. Cheryl is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Jim; her father, Stanley; her brother, Dale (Michelle); her children Andrew (Gina), Tina, and Cory; grandchildren Travis, Teagan, Katie, and Chantayla; her nephews Ryan and Jaron (Tia) and niece Ashley (Justin); grand-nieces and -nephews Hailey, Hayes, and Haven. Please join the family, if you are able and comfortable doing so, at 2:00 p.m. on November 14, 2021, at Reclamation Church in Plano, Texas, for a memorial to and celebration of her life.
