John Howard Pearson

John Howard Pearson, Jr., of Sachse, Texas, entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021, with loved ones by his side. He was born on December 31st, 1957, in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, the son of the late John Howard Pearson, Sr., and Doris Anne Campbell, and is a graduate of South Garland High School's Class of 1976, in Garland, Texas. Howard, as he was more commonly known by, married the love of his life, Kathleen Sue Parker, on October 26th, 1979, whose union brought two sons, Christopher Ryan Pearson and Joshua Aaron Pearson. His list of loves included the following: Harley-Davidson motorcycles, camping trips, piddling in the garage working on various vehicles, listening to jazz, classic rock, and bluegrass music, reading National Geographic, watching lunar and solar eclipses and gazing at the night time stars, laughing at Gary Larson's "The Far Side" comic strip, helping around the house, working in the yard, drawing his favorite cartoon characters such as Charlie Brown and Snoopy, and spending time with those closest to him just to name a few. He also enjoyed technical work in telecommunications as an employee of Nortel Networks (formerly Northern Telecom) in Richardson, Texas, for over 25 years. From his involvement in the Boy Scouts as a child, to St. Phillip's United Methodist Church youth group, to volunteer service work through Garland Police Department's Neighborhood Crimewatch Association, Howard kept himself involved in a variety of ways. To top it all off, Howard was recognized in the Sachse Chamber of Commerce's "Men Who Cook" event in 2015 for his delicious brisket, receiving awards for "Best Entree" and "Best in Show, the People's Choice" for his delicious brisket with special homemade rub, which was a great experience for him. To say he was gentle-spirited, overall, hardly scratches the surface of who Howard was, not to mention the fact that he enjoyed taking the scenic route wherever he drove, both of which described his personality accurately. Those who knew him would likely remember Howard as the quiet one in the room, but also as one who would crack a joke with his unique sense of humor and wit at just the right time. Howard was preceded in death by his father, John Howard Pearson, Sr., stepmother, Marjorie D. Pearson, and stepfather, Raymond Ernest Romanowski, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Sue Pearson of Sachse, Texas; sons Christopher Ryan (Brandy) Pearson of Edgewood, Texas, and Joshua Aaron (Rafael) Pearson of Sachse, Texas; granddaughters Emma and Kirsten Pearson of Edgewood, Texas; mother, Doris Campbell Romanowski of Dallas, Texas, stepbrother Brent Daniell, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family wishes to express sincerest thanks to the following: the wonderful medical staff at Methodist Richardson Medical Center, in Richardson, Texas, for the extraordinary care Howard received during his three-week hospitalization; members of the Elders' Quorum and Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sachse Ward, for their generous hospitality leading up to Howard's admission into the hospital; and, last but certainly not least, relatives, friends, neighbors, and former co-workers who have extended their support along the way. Though we grieve at his succumbing to complications from COVID-19, we stand on the firm belief that Howard is now healed and whole in the arms of the Father. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions can be made to St. Phillips United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
