Funeral services for J. B. "Jake" Terry of Dallas, Texas, will take place in the Chapel at First Baptist Church of Garland at 10:00AM on Monday, July 19, 2021, with Bro. Jack Schmid officiating. Interment will follow at LaurelLand Memorial Park in Dallas. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Jake was born on September 25, 1922, to Steven and Lellia (McCullough) Terry in Hillsboro, Texas. He passed away on July 13, 2021, at the age of 98. Jake was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. He was part of the forces that fought at the Battle of the Bulge. Jake was a cabinetmaker by trade. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Jake will be best remembered for his love of and for his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ronald Terry. Jake is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Anita; sons Pat (Kim) Terry, Larry (Min) Stone, Nick Stone and Carter (Cherie) Stone; numerous grandchildren and extended family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jake's memory should be directed toward the Friendship House at the First Baptist Church of Garland.
