Neil Anthony Thummel

A celebration of life memorial service will be held to honor Neil Thummel, on Saturday, March 20, 2021 2:00 PM, at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland, Texas. Neil passed away unexpectedly and suddenly on November 19, 2020 (cause of death pending). Neil is preceded in death by his brother, Brian (2017) and his father, Howard Dwayne Thummel (2009), his dear friend Gary Starnes (2017), who was like a father to him. Neil is survived by his mother, Sharon Thummel, step-sister Blair Simmelink and the love of his life, Tina Compton, as well as many loving family members and many dear friends, and good men he considered a brother, Gaylon Presson, Greg Hillburn and Sean Stacy. For most of his working life, Neil was a licensed plumber, having followed in his father's footsteps. Some of the projects Neil worked on included a multi-story building in the Arts District of Dallas, Texas, as well as Hope Center in Plano, Texas. For the last couple of years, Neil worked as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut in Red Oak, Texas, as a hip injury had affected his flexibility for the last several years. Neil loved hanging out with family and dear friends and having a cold beer, listening to good music and grilling. He enjoyed discussing all subject matter and very deeply with some of his close friends. He loved a good laugh and loved to make others laugh, smile and chuckle. He was a good man with a good heart. He will truly be missed and always loved, and in our hearts forever. Rest in peace our beloved Neil.
