1 Peter 5:6-11 On Monday February 8, 2021, Cynthia Lane McCollum Lowe; Mom, sister, Granny, Grans, aunt, cousin and friend; went with the angels to eternity at the age of 86. Cynthia was born on September 27, 1934 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Buster and Edna Sue McCollum. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years Captain Joe E. Lowe, sister Eddie Jean Grigg from Tennessee and great grandson Ryan Dethlefs. Cynthia loved and trusted the Lord with all her heart. She was blessed with a family that she loved so very much. She lived a life of service, dedicating her time to family, friends, and church. She was a longtime devoted member of White's Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake and volunteer at Angel's Attic. Her Wonderful Wednesdays With Women group brought her so much joy. She regularly gathered for lunch with lifetime friends of 80 years from Reinhardt Elementary School. Cynthia had a passion for all sports and could talk sports with anyone. We were blessed when she shared her beautiful singing voice with her family. She sang like an angel. She was known for her feisty and compassionate spirit – and truly loved a good hug. She loved sewing, including wedding dresses, Easter dresses, and dresses for church missions, enjoyed baking beautiful wedding cakes, and delighted in cooking for big family gatherings. She loved plants and had a green thumb. Cynthia is survived by her brother Gary McCollum and wife Barbara; three children, Gary Lowe and wife Becky, Kathy Giggleman and husband Gene, Karen Hoover and husband Joe; nine grandchildren, Sarah Cavanaugh and husband Christopher, Kristin Giggleman Burns and husband Heath, Katherine Rinewalt and husband Daniel, Jennifer Sparks and husband Ben, Joshua Lowe, Lauren Dethlefs and husband Ben, Eli Hoover and wife Brittany, Melanie Baker and James Dietz; nine great grandchildren, Avery, Sadie, Ethan, Kayleigh, Allison, Jack, Lucy, Louise, Baby Girl Hoover due in April, and countless adoring nieces and nephews.
