Armando Salazar

Armando Salazar was born on July 21,1950 in Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He transitioned into eternal life on Saturday January 16th, 2021 in Rowlett, Texas. Armando was preceded in death by his parents Arnulfo and Manuela Salazar; son Armando, Jr.; siblings: Juan Salazar and Josefina Tamez. Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife of 49 years Delia Salazar; children: Rolando Salazar (wife Erica Salazar), Melisa Saldivar (husband Carlos Saldivar), Arnoldo "Ernie" Salazar; grandchildren who adored him: Jessica Salazar, Anthony Jackson, Erik Salazar, Richard Hinojos,Jr., Brianna Salazar, Julius Hinojos, great grandson Mckahlyen "Baby Mac" Jackson; siblings: Olivia DeLeon, Roberto Salazar, Consuelo Salazar-Garcia , Elia Salazar-Salazar, Lupe Perez, Fidelia Garza; and a host of extended family and friends. The Salazar family moved to Rowlett, Texas in 1968. Armando worked in the construction industry for over 50 years and developed long lasting friendships. Armandos greatest passion in life was his family. He had many interest and hobbies and excelled in all of them. He especially loved fishing and tinkering with cars. He was a fantastic cook and grillmaster. He loved having family and friends over for a good ol' fish fry and BBQ.You could almost always catch him relaxing on his back porch with his boombox or in his truck listening to his favorite tunes. His favorite artist was Rigo Tovar. Armando loved his grandchildren immensely. He was the funny and cool grandpa' who kept them on their toes. He had the best humor and hilarious personality. His laughter was contagious and he didn't mind being the center of attention at family gatherings, in fact he loved it. Armando was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He never met a stranger and always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. Armando did not allow his battle with cancer to overshadow his spirit. May his amazing strength and will to remain positive, determined, resilient and faithful serve as an inspiration to us all. His loss leaves a great void in our hearts, however we hold great comfort knowing he is resting in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Armando's family will receive friends at the Eastgate Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, January 21, 2021. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 22, 2021 in the Chapel at Eastgate Funeral Home. A private interment will follow.
