Olubukola Adebimpe Olaloko

Mrs. Olubukola Adebimpe Olaloko, nee Babalola was born on August 22, 1960 in Lagos, Nigeria to the family of late Pa Gabriel Adebisi and Mrs. Esther Babalola. She was the second out of eight children, and her grandfather was the Alatunse of Ipetumodu in Oshun state of Nigeria. She started her primary school education at All Saints Primary School, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria (1966-1971) and later proceeded to Girls Secondary School in Gbagada, Lagos, Nigeria (1972-1976). She went to the Polytechnic, Ibadan for her Higher School Certificate (GCE A' Level) (1976-1978), before proceeding to the University of Ibadan where she obtained her bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Chemistry in 1981. She did her NYSC at Bida, Niger State in 1981-1982, and then went back to the University of Ibadan for her master's degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry between 1982-1983. Due to her passion for education, she obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1988. She got married to the love of her life, Adefenwa on May 14, 1983 and their marriage was blessed with three children, Adedapo, Adedayo, and Adedamola. She started her career in education at Baptist Academy, Obanikoro, Lagos, Nigeria as a chemistry teacher in 1984-1989. She was the assistant principal at Sango Secondary School in Agege, Nigeria until May 1996 before relocating to Dallas, Texas on June 01, 1996. She continued her career as an educator in the United States at Sarah Zumwalt Middle School in Dallas as a science teacher from 1998-2012. In 1999, she obtained her Life Teacher's certification from the Texas Board of Education. She started at Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy in 2013 as a 6th grade science teacher and a 10th grade chemistry teacher. She was a chemistry professor at the Mountain View Community College now known as Dallas College for 15 years. She obtained numerous teaching certifications from the University of Texas in Dallas and Texas Women's University. She also became a National Board-Certified Teacher for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS – highest professional education certification in the United States). She was a God-fearing woman and a faithful follower of Christ. She was an active member of the Potter's House in Dallas, TX since 1997. She devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren, and God used her to touch numerous lives in Nigeria, United Kingdom, and America. Her memories will remain with us all forever. Olubukola was preceded in death by her father late Pa Gabriel Adebisi Babalola and sister, late Mrs. Omotayo Babalola Kuti. She is survived by her mother: Mrs. Esther Babalola; husband: Adefenwa Emmanuel Olaloko; Children: Adedapo Olaloko, and wife, Emily Olaloko, Adedayo Anucha nee Olaloko and husband, Onyema Anucha, Adedamola Olaloko, and wife Shanice Olaloko; grandchildren: Abigail Anucha, Brock Olaloko, Gabrielle Anucha, and Charlie Olaloko; siblings: Dr. Adedapo Babalola, Adebayo Babalola, Adebanji Babalola, Olusola Babalola, Temitope Adeyemi, and Adegboyega Babalola. She went to be with her Creator on September 24, 2020. She will be greatly missed and may her gentle soul rest in peace.
