"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." (Philippians 3:20) Varghese Chacko was born on January 21st, 1935 in Chuzhana, Valakuzhy in Kerala. He was born to Chacko Varkey and Saramma of Kakkanattil house. He completed his high school education at Thadiyoor NSS High School, then moved to Madhya Pradesh and worked within the government sector. He married Mariamma Abraham of Kollakunnel house in 1967. Few years later he moved back to Kerala. He accepted Jesus as his personal savior and took water baptism in 1976. Then he worked in Abu Dhabi. He came back to Kerala in 1983 and was actively involved with the Chuzhana Salem IPC, serving as a Sunday school teacher, church treasurer, secretary, etc. for many years. In 2000 he moved to America to be with his son and family where he was actively involved in the spiritual matters of IPC Tabernacle. He lived a modest and Christ-centered life, loving and caring for his family and other believers. He raised his children and grandchildren to live in the fear of the Lord. He peacefully entered the Heavenly Kingdom that he was longing for, at home in his sleep Saturday evening September 12th. He is survived by his wife, Mariamma Varghese, sons Shibu and Shiju, daughters-in-law Gini and Betty, grandchildren Jobins, Joyes, Naithan, Jeremy and Joel, sisters Mariamma Mathew and Annie Jose.
