Curtis Cole,65, was born on November 9, 1954 and passed away on July 27,2020. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents David Charles Cole and Almeda Jane Austin-Cole. Left to cherish his memory are husband David Rhodes Jr., sister Carolyn Stoddard and husband Mark, Aunt Peggy Houser and Uncle Charles, nephew Christopher Evans, niece Cassie Clayton and husband Matt, Norma Carrizales and daughters Jennifer and Arianna Mendez, as well as a multitude of cousins and numerous other family members and friends. Curtis graduated from Mesquite High School in 1972 and went on to graduate from the University of North Texas with a degree in Business. He was a lifelong resident of Mesquite, TX, and a member of the First Christian Church for over 50 years where he served as a Minister of Music. Curtis was involved and served in many capacities in the Nortex Square Dancing Organization even went on to become the President of the Dallas Stone Stepping Square Dance Club. He was a member of the Mesquite Masonic Lodge and a member of the Eastern Stars origination. Curtis worked in the family business Cole Insurance for many years until his retirement. Services will be held for family and close friends,a visitation is at Eastgate Funeral Home on July 30, 2020 at 10:00am; Followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. All are welcomed at the Graveside Service at Mesquite City Cemetery on July 30, 2020 at 2:00PM * We ask the public to wear face masks and practice social distancing while at the funeral home. Attendance will be limited to 50 guests at the Funeral Home Chapel.
