Don W Scoggins, 90 of Garland Tx entered into eternal rest on June 3, 2020. He was born on June 29, 1929 in Lakeview, Tx to Harrison and Ima Scoggins. He was baptized at a young age and worshipped in the Baptist faith. He attended and graduated Garland High School, Class of 1947. He served in the US Navy on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier as a Plane Captain to Alan B Shepherd, future US Astronaut. During which time he traveled to the Arctic Circle. He attended Southern Methodist University for Entomology. He served the community for many years owning Scoggins Pest Control. He enjoyed RV'ing, golfing, wood-working and painting landscapes. He loved a good practical joke and watching old cowboy westerns or listening to some of his favorites; Hank Williams, Roy Acuff or old-time bluegrass. Most of all his Family was his favorite, he loved being with them, laughing with them, camping with them and loving them. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Anita Scoggins; daughter Diane Schriner and husband Chris; daughter Donna Koonce and husband Mark; son Mark Motley; daughter Sheila Stokley and husband Mike and daughter in law, Judy Scoggins. Grandchildren: John Scoggins, Dusti Scoggins, Derika Tyree, Justin Scoggins, Darrin Scoggins, Matt Wells, Heather OBanion, Jason Payne, Amanda Koonce, Adam Koonce, Andrew Motley, Brittany Campbell, Chelsea Campbell and Kendall Stokley. And 18 great grand-children, sister Bonnie Williamson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Ima Scoggins, son Dwight Scoggins and nephew Randy Alford. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in his honor.
