Roger Wayne Fortner was born on July 24th, 1948 in Tyler, Texas. He passed away at his home in Emory, Texas on January 17th, 2020 at the age of 71. Roger held many jobs through the years including police officer, artist, and truck driver. He enjoyed farming, painting, sketching, and playing both the piano and guitar. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Wayland Wayne Fortner and Ruth Fortner, son Roger Lee Fortner, and stepchildren Richard Ebert and Dorothy Ebert. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, his children, Susan Fortner, Brenda Stout, Don Fortner, Wayland Fortner, and Mary Booth, stepchildren Angela Kines and Scott Ebert, brothers Curtis Fortner and Buck Fortner, as well as 20 grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
