Kristi Kay Patton

Kristi Kay Patton was born on a mid morning summer day, June 22, 1961. She was cute as button & came into this world curious, feisty, opinionated & fearless. As she grew, those qualities would be added with funny, loving, talented & strong. They all would serve her well all of her life. Kristi gained her wings & looked at the face of God, December 6, 2019. She loved her family, music, sewing, cooking & the water. She played the piano and sang in the choir growing up. She & her sister, Sheila often 'sang for their supper' as Kristi accompanying them, per their mother's request. Together with the love of her life, Kristi raised two incredible sons. She & Selma shared 31 years together. She doted on her niece, loved spoiling & bragging about her grandchildren & grand-dogs. In true Sloan tradition she never met a stranger. She was borne with cooking gene & loved kitchen therapy. She & her sister always looked forward to their summer canning & holiday baking for family & extended family. She loved spending time at the lake with her family, loved the Colorado mountains but her favorite place was the ocean. Her favorite holiday was Christmas & was decorating by the time Thanksgiving leftovers were put away. She was laughter, courage, bravery, love & grace. Even when she was fighting the pain from her illness she still found something to smile about it. She is an indelible sapphire colored thread in the tapestry of all the souls whose lives she touched. There's a void where she should be, where tears fall now but her love carries all of her loved ones each day, even from the stars above. Kristi is presided in death by her mother, Esther Sloan-Kavanaugh, her paternal grandparents, Geroid & Inez Patton, her maternal grandparents, Bill & Linnie Sloan, her uncles, Bill Sloan, Jr. and Keiller T.
