Patricia Jean Ballard

Patricia Jean Ballard, a loving wife and mother, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 84 years young. Born September 13, 1934 to Hugo Thurman Roebuck and Bertha Cordelia Bogle Vaughn in Tyler, Texas. Pat moved to Dallas in the early 1940s as a child where she attended school. After high school, she went on to attend St. Paul Hospital School of Nursing in Dallas, Texas. She graduated in 1955 to become a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. Pat retired from her 44-year career as a Registered Nurse as the Director of Surgery for Medical Arts Hospital in Dallas, Texas. During her career, she was a member in the Association of periOperative Registered Nursing. She met her husband, Bobby Wayne Ballard, in 1952 when he moved to Dallas. They were married October 12, 1956. They traveled around Europe while Bobby was stationed in Germany in the Army; and, later throughout the United States, South Seas, and the Caribbean Sea. They raised two children. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and her husband of 62 years. She is survived by her son, David Wayne Ballard of Mesquite, Texas and her daughter Pamela Michele Ballard and her life partner Naloni Keltz of Garland, Texas. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Ann and Harold Ray Jones, their daughter and her husband, Melody Ann and James Lawrence Heatherley, all of Ferris, Texas. She is also survived by her brother Erwin Lloyd Cheek and his wife, Diana from Tulsa, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers or honoraria, the family request that donations be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children of Dallas (2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, TX 75219). Graveside services will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where she will reside forever with her Soulmate and Husband Bobby.
