Aniyamma Thomas Paul, affectionately known as “Animol” or “Annie” to family and friends.
Annie was born on April 4, 1966, in Pampady, Kerala, India, to the late Pr. John Varghese and Marykutty John and was the older sister to Aji Mathew.
Raised in the Pentecostal faith, Annie carried her Christian upbringing with her throughout her life. She accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at the age of 14. As the daughter of a Pastor and granddaughter to the late Pr. Y. Zachariah, faith and ministry were deeply woven into the foundation of her family. As a family, they lived in various parsonages, allowing her to experience different communities and churches from an early age where her father served as a Pastor. Throughout her childhood she traveled from place to place as she went from Nanthancode, Karichal, Karikkamuri, Venmony, Mundakayam, Elappara, Kalamassery, Karikkam, Mallassery. In February of 1990, she migrated to America to join the rest of her family, where she became part of New Garland Church of God. On October 8, 1990, Annie married Thomas Paul, beginning a marriage that would span 36 years. Together, they built their family and shared a life centered around faith, family, and love. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her three children, Justin, Janice, and Jason. As a family, they went to New Garland Church of God followed by Philadelphia Pentecostal Church of God, and later Zion Church, where she and her husband were among the founding members. Annie was a faithful presence in the life of the church, serving, participating, and supporting the church family she loved.
Professionally, Annie served with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, and worked for 26 years and was able to retire in December of 2020.
Those who knew Annie will remember her as soft hearted, sweet natured, and caring. She carried a quiet kindness that touched the people around her. Annie’s presence, her love for her family, and the gentleness with which she treated others spoke for her.
Annie went to be with the Lord on October 7th, 2026 at the age of 60, surrounded by family, in the comfort of her home in Rowlett, Texas. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband Thomas Paul; her children, Justin and Michelle, Janice, and Jason and Ellen; her mother, Marykutty John; her sister, Aji Mathew and family; and the many relatives, whose lives were touched by her love and kindness.
While her family and friends mourn the loss of a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, they do so with the hope that death is not the end. The faith that shaped Annie’s life gives comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and quiet strength will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us in this earthly life, the love she gave and the memories she created will continue through her family and all those who knew her.
