Robert Dale Hamilton

Robert Dale Hamilton, of Balch Springs, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on March 31, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Robert lived a life marked by quiet strength, steady devotion, and a love for the outdoors that he happily shared with those closest to him. On June 3, 1972, Robert married the love of his life, Sherrie, and the two of them spent the next 54 years building a home together and raising a daughter, a son, and a growing family of grandchildren who adored him. For over 30 years, Robert made his living as an over the road truck driver, logging countless miles with the same dependability he brought to everything he did. Robert was a stoic man, but those who knew him best treasured his rare smile. Many of us only discovered how funny he really was once we had grown up ourselves, and it became one of the great gifts of knowing him. When he wasn't working, he loved to hunt with his best friend Brad and to fish with the people he loved most: his wife Sherrie, his son Jeremy, his brother Mark, and his sister Peggi. In later years, he passed that same love of fishing on to his grandson Jared and his great-grandson Hunter, creating memories that will be carried forward for generations. Robert is survived by his wife, Sherrie Hamilton; his daughter, Shannon Marsh; his son, Jeremy Hamilton; his daughter-in-law, Claudia Hamilton; his grandchildren, Heather Marsh, Holly Marsh, Giovanna Hamilton, Georgina Hamilton, Jared Marsh and his grand-daughterin-law Natalie Marsh; his great-grandchildren, Hunter Marsh, Emma Marsh, Everlee Rodriguez, Serenity Marsh, Harleigh Marsh and Atlas Marsh. Robert's passing will forever leave an empty space in our hearts. We are honored to have had him as a husband, father, pops, brother, papa, and friend. We are so grateful we had him as ours to love in this life, and we hold to the promise of our faith that we will see him again on the other side. May he rest in peace.
