With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Glenzell Darby, who left us peacefully on August 2, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on May 22, 1931, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, she lived a rich and fulfilling life, full of love, joy, and adventure.
Over the years, Glenzell lived in several places, including Dallas, Kleburg, Port Aransas, Grand Saline, and ultimately Garland, where she made her home for the last part of her life. She had a passion for travel, and her adventurous spirit led her to many places, but it was her family that she cherished most.
Her love for family was abundant. She was the glue that kept so many of us together, offering unwavering support, guidance, and love to all her children, nieces, and nephews. She is survived by her two sons, Billy Glen and Rodger Darby, who were blessed to call her Mom.
In her final days and months, Glenzell found great joy in doing diamond paintings, a creative hobby she cherished. She lovingly gave several of her completed pieces to those who stopped by to visit, always eager to share her talent and warmth. She was a constant giver, always thinking of others.
Glenzell was a devout believer in Christ, and her love for the Lord and her church family brought her great comfort and peace throughout her life.
In her final days, Glenzell was surrounded by family and friends who came to visit and share precious moments. Her passing was peaceful, a reflection of the grace with which she lived her life.
A viewing will be held at Eastgate Funeral Home. The burial will take place at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, where she will be laid to rest.
Glenzell will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
