James L. Yoder

James Leroy Yoder peacefully departed this life on March 3, 2025. Born in Prairie Valley, Oklahoma on April 29, 1931, James, affectionately known as "Pop," left school after the 8th grade to support his family by helping with farm chores in Oklahoma.  He moved his family to Texas in the mid 50's, going to work for a Ford dealership in Rockwall, TX.  He left there to join Kraft Foods, culminating in a fulfilling career, from which he retired in February 1988, after roughly 20 years.  In his earlier years, James enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing dominoes with friends, and hunting.  His retirement was spent in the comfort of his recliner, relishing his pipe, sipping beer, and indulging in episodes of The Golden Girls or westerns on his small garage TV. Pop was a man who preferred to stay out of the spotlight, often silent, yet always with a twinkle in his eye, and a deep love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Mon Mitchum, and his parents, Maude and Raymond.  James is survived by his loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: his daughter Debra Bradley and her children, Lindsey Shaw (with Justin) and their children Ethan and Norah; Lauren Singer and her daughter, Eliza; his son Mark Yoder (with Misty) and his children: Beau Yoder (with Rachel), Boston Evans (with Russell) and their children, Oakley, Briley, and Madden, and Brighton Serrato(with Tyler), and their child Owen.
