Colton Blaine Richards

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colton Blaine Richards, 25, of McKinney, Texas. Colton left this world far too soon on January 26, 2025. Though his time with us was brief, his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on August 29, 1999, in Plano, Texas, Colton was a bright light to all who knew him. He grew up in McKinney, where he made lifelong friends and cherished countless memories. With an adventurous spirit and a heart full of compassion, Colton had a natural way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. His sense of humor, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty were among his greatest gifts.

Colton was a proud graduate of McKinney Boyd High School and pursued his passions with dedication. He was known for his love of music, gaming, and fishing. Whether he was playing online with friends, casting a line with his buddies, or spending time with family, Colton approached life with enthusiasm and an open heart.

He is survived by his loving mother, Amber Richards; his grandparents, Bruce Wilson and Cheryl Wilson; and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss him beyond measure. Colton was preceded in death by beloved family members who remain deeply missed and cherished.

A celebration of Colton’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor his memory and share the many stories that made him so special. We welcome all who feel moved to share a story about Colton during the service—your memories bring comfort and help keep his spirit alive.

Colton’s kindness and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Though his time with us was far too brief, the impact he made will last a lifetime. Rest easy, Colton, until we meet again.
