James Kimmet went to our Lord on Wednesday August 28th after fighting multiple illnesses. James was
born and raised in a small Ohio Town and proceeded in death by his parents, (Clarence & Elizabeth) with
deceased brothers & sister (Richard, Chuck, John and Kate). Jim is survived by his dedicated wife
Jeanette and children Tony(Kelly), Tim(Patricia), Teresa(Arthur) & Julie and four grandchildren (Brianna,
Alyssa, Corinne & Michael and a great grandchild.
He was a dedicated father that had an extraordinary life of Faith and Service as a 4th Degree Knight of
Columbus, Air Force Combat Veteran (Korean War), Police Officer and Volunteer with a gifted sense of
humor and that made friends easily and would drink a cold beer with you.
In early life he experienced the hardship of the Great Depression and learned the value of hard work,
was a star High School athlete, volunteered for the USAF serving two years in Korea experiencing the
difficulties and loss of War, moved to Michigan to work for the railroad and raise his family.
In mid-life he graduated from the Police Academy and finished his Bachelor Degree; typing papers into
the late night and served as an example of not giving up and finish what you start.
In later life Jim & Jeanette moved to a warmer Texas to enjoy golfing, being a grandfather and
helping/supporting the local community as a member of his Catholic Church. Jim was that guy that
would stop if you had a flat tire to help change it or lend you his ear on your worst day.
James had a deep faith in God, devoted loving Husband to Jeanette, a spirited “Ohio State University
Fan” and had a full life well served.
