Ronnie Mac Pope

Ronnie Mac Pope passed away February 24, 2024 in McKinney Tx at the age of 71. He
was born to Mac Henry Pope and Lera Jean (Burkett) Pope on December 1,1952 in
Austin, Tx. Ronnie graduated from Medina Tx High School in 1971. He served in the
United States Air Force from 1972-1976. He graduated from East Texas Baptist
College with a B.A. in Religion in 1979, and from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary with a M.A. in Divinity in 1982. He married Priscilla Susan Runyon on
December 20, 1985 in McKinney, Tx.
Ronnie had a passion for reading and was seldom seen without a book in hand. He
loved talking to people and made many long-time friends through striking up a
conversation. Always the jokester ready with a corny pun, he loved to make people
laugh. He was an exceptional husband, incredible father, and fantastic pawpaw.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Priscilla of McKinney, Tx; son Nathan Peugh and wife
Rebecca of Leander, Tx; daughter Rachel Northcutt and husband Ben of Aubrey, Tx;
son Daniel Pope of San Antonio, Tx; granddaughter Elizabeth O’Dell and husband
Devin of Tioga, Tx; granddaughter Charity Bentley and husband Christopher of
Nacogdoches Tx; granddaughters Allison, Katy, and Kristi Peugh of Leander Tx;
granddaughter Olivia Northcutt of Aubrey, Tx; grandson Nicolas Northcutt of Aubrey, Tx;
great-granddaughters Adeline, Gracelynn, and Emberlee O’Dell of Tioga Tx; and great-
grandson Levi O’Dell of Tioga, Tx; mother Lera Jean Pope of McKinney, Tx; Brother
James Pope and wife Sarah of Summerville, SC; Brother Rocky Pope and wife Dawn of
Mesquite, Tx; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2009.
We miss you Ronnie.
