Pat and Family, Sending my sincere condolences. Don had a great influence on my life. Working with him at FlightSafety was a pleasure and he taught me so much. Don created the private pilot ground school course and I was his first student. Don was truly a great mentor and I will miss him. Praying for you all during this difficult time. Sincerely, Lori Parrish

I met Don years ago as a Flight Instructor at Monarch Air. He was an excellent pilot and mentor. He actually recommended me as a pilot to Metro Airlines 34 yrs ago. I worked with him for many many years and remained friends throughout his life. He was such a nice man and friend. Ill never forget his kindness for his generosity to refer me and start my career. Im forever grateful. Ill miss you Don. Prayers to his family. ❤️. Cathy

Uncle Buster was one of my favorite uncles. He taught me how to ride a bicycle when I was about 5 years old in Beaumont. I never got to know him very well because I lived so far away but I talked to him for a while in 1999 at my Dad's funeral in Sherman, Texas. We stayed in touch for a while but it's hard to stay in touch with emails. I'm thankful for the times I was with him. He was a very kind and special person. Don Stewart

Pat, Don was my instructor back when he worked for my mother, Pat Jetton at Airport Flying School in the 70s. I have a lot of great memories of Don and I during my flying education, both at the flying school and when I flew with him in that old Baron flying cancelled checks on the Dallas/Austin/Houston route in the middle of the night. I also used to maintain his MU2 plane when he was flying for Knox Oil and have a lot of right seat time with him in those days. He was the best and he will be missed.

Don and I were captains at American Airlines and later both instructors at Flight Safety. He was always the consummate professional. Pilots who were fortunate enough to have him as their instructor always knew they were getting the best instructor in the building. His teaching skills were tied to his gift for making those around him feel special. When Don talked to anyone, they always knew they had 100% of his attention. -- Rest in Peace, my friend. You will be missed.
