Deirdre de Wit Pebworth, 62, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2023. Born
on June 30, 1961, in Dallas. Deirdre was a caring, loving, and witty individual who always
wanted to help others. She was the life of the party and enjoyed family get-togethers,
especially spending time with her nieces and nephews. Her family nickname was
"Friendly".
Deirdre was born, and raised in Dallas, TX., attended Stults Road Elementary and Forest
Meadows Junior High for her primary education, with Lake Highlands High School for her
secondary education. She started her higher education at Richland Community College
in Dallas, then pursued and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Texas at
Austin.
Deirdre had a successful career as a Registered Nurse. Starting her career as a Navy
nurse, she then went on to work at an Otolaryngology clinic and a Mohs (skin surgery)
Surgery clinic before transitioning to the Case Management Department in various
hospitals. She had a passion for caring for others. Deirdre was very organized and would
make a list for everything. She even had a list of her lists.
Her long time “Neighborhood Friends” remember that Deirdre loved competing and
winning in games of all kinds, including board games, cards, darts, and pool. In her free
time she also found joy in artwork and painting. Some of her favorite things to do were
going to the lake, fishing, camping, traveling and the Renaissance Fair. Deirdre passed
away on November 1st (Dia de los Muertos - Day of the Dead) assuring a celebration and
party as she passed on her way to heaven.
Deirdre is survived by her son, Nicholas Lonzo Pebworth, her sister, Kirsten de Wit Olney

(John H Olney), her brother, Seth de Wit (Cecylia de Wit) and her sister, Damiane de Wit-
Guzman (Jose Guzman), and her nieces and nephews, Shawn de Wit Olney, Ian McLean

Olney, Claire Courtney Olney, Nicole K de Wit, and Michael Seth de Wit. She was
survived by and also very fond of her many de Wit and Courtney cousins and aunts. She
was also survived by her loyal friend, Charles Russell, who was with her until the end.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michiel de Wit, her mother, Catherine
Courtney de Wit, and her brother, Shawn de Wit.
The Eastgate Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Family members will arrange a celebration of life at a later date.
