Marty completed her education at Hillcrest High School and went on to work for Collins Radio/Rockwell/Alcatel and also served as a dedicated teacher's aide at Spring Valley Elementary. Marty's passion for helping others extended beyond the classroom as she actively participated in various roles involving her kids activities, including being a soccer coach, team mom, girl scout leader, and cub scout den mother. Even in retirement, she continued to contribute her time and energy to several retail positions, including a pawn shop specialty stores, card store. However, her favorite job was at the Candleman candle store in Valley View Mall.
Family was the center of Marty's life, and she delighted in attending the events of her children and grandchildren. Whether it was cheering them on at sporting events, admiring their artwork at shows, or listening to their beautiful music during band concerts and marching competitions, Marty's love and support knew no bounds. She treasured her involvement in the church ladies group at Bethel Lutheran and found joy in simple pleasures like candles, reading, puzzles, harmless gossip, movies, and the Heartland TV series.
Marty is survived by her children, Sherry and Scott Talley of Collierville, TN, Lewis and Angela Dale of Mesquite, TX, and Richard Dale of Dallas. Her memory will also be cherished by her four grandsons, Christopher Dale, Garrett Talley, Nicolas Dale (Skyler), and Gaige Talley, as well as her granddaughter Sara Dale and great-grandson Beau Dale. She is also survived by her sister Patsy Lentz (David) of Dallas, brother Richard Burgess Jr. of Dallas, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A memorial service to honor Marty's life will take place on May 27th at 11:30 am at Bethel Lutheran Church, located at 11211 Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75238. Flowers may be sent to 2330 Larchmont, Mesquite, TX. Those who wish to make a memorial donation in Marty's name can contribute to the Alzheimer's Association. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony alongside her immediate family.
Marty's love knew no bounds, but she was especially fierce in her role as a mother and "Little Grannie." She touched the hearts of many and will be remembered as a warrior who selflessly cared for her loved ones. Her legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her.
