Jerry Leslie Perry , age 78, passed away in Dallas after a long health battle on March 12,

2023. He will be remembered lovingly by his wife Cecilia and daughter Dawn. He was

preceded in death by his mother, Chrystal Kimmons, his father J. Perry, and his 4-year son,

Scott.

Jerry was born on April 3, 1944 in Ft. Smith, AR and grew up as an only child. As a die-hard

Razorback, he attended the University of Arkansas, playing baseball, having a blast, and

causing mischief. He met his wife Ceil at a clothing company where they worked, was

smitten after their first date and continued to be for the next 51 years. They built their

dream home in Lake Highlands where they lived for 25 years. Jerry loved being a dad; he

coached every sport, always offered sage advice, and put his family first. His daughter even

followed his footsteps calling the Hogs at Arkansas. Many an hour was spent bonding over

the Hogs and the Cowboys.

Jerry served the Lord faithfully. He left the corporate world to become a minister at

Skillman Church of Christ for over 20 years where he was cherished. He loved to laugh, was

always surrounded by people, and never lost his sense of humor. Jerry’s special gift was

working with senior adults and performing their funerals as a personal and loving tribute.

He is at peace in heaven reunited with loved ones and watching over his family and friends

here on earth as our guardian angel. He lived his Dash (“The Dash” by Linda Ellis) well and

the impact he had on lives everywhere will continue to carry his spirit on earth.

A memorial will be held at 2:00 PM at the Preston Road Church of Christ, 6409 Preston Rd,

Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, please send donation to Tunnel to Towers, American Cancer

Society or the Alzheimer’s Association." />

Ceil and Dawn, Matt and I are so sorry for your loss! We are sorry we lost communication with ya'll after we moved from Dallas to the country. We have so many fond memories with your family when we were at Garland Road and Highland Oaks. Matt has many funny memories when he and Jerry played on the church softball team together! I'm sure Jerry is having fun in Heaven, the the SW corner, remembering times with other church family members who have gone on before him and Praise God that he is well now in his new body! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow at his memorial. We love you and are praying for you!
