Rene Benavidez Jr.
On Sunday, February 19, 2023, Rene Benavidez Jr., devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother,
passed away at the age of 58 years old. He was born in Alice, Texas on May 19, 1964. Rene will be
forever remembered by his wife of 38 years, Laura, their children Michael (wife Meredith) and Rene,
stepchildren Yvette and Robert (wife Delisa), and 9 grandchildren Angelica (husband Adam), Ashley,
Robert, Allison, Amber, Madelyn, Michael Tyler, Luke, and Layla. Rene is also survived by his sister
Norma, aunt Eva, uncle Humberto, sister-in-law Georgia, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins
that he loved dearly. Rene is preceded in death by his mother Olivia, brother Henry, and brother in-law
Rodolfo “Rudy”.
Rene spent the last 28 years living in the DFW area, where he made numerous friends in his roles at Ray
Huffines and Service King. Rene was known for his love of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Cleo, Max
and Mara (his 3 spoiled dogs). He will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Southfork Country
Church located at 6605 McWhirter Rd, Parker, TX 75002.
