Jean Catherine Caster, age of 98, passed away on January 17, 2023 at her home in Dallas, Texas. Jean
was born on January 8, 1925 in Canton, Ohio to Richard "Dick" and Helen Bremkamp. She was
preceded in death by her husband George Caster, her sister Mary Margaret Stockdale, her brothers
Richard Bremkamp Jr, James Bremkamp, Robert Bremkamp and her granddaughter Renee Bravo. She
is survived by her sister Dorothy Bernier, her children Richard Caster, Thomas Caster, Joseph Caster,
Donald Caster, Patrick Caster, Michael Caster, Janet Abreu, Mary Caster, John Caster, Peggy Caster,
Robert Caster, Carol Short and Judy Hillman along with more grandchildren and great grandchildren
than we can list.
Jean was a devout Catholic receiving her first communion on June 11, 1933 at St Joseph's Church in
Canton Ohio. She was one of the founding members as well as a life long member of St Pius X Church
in Dallas Texas since 1954. Over the years Jean participated in and was a member of numerous church
organizations including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, The Altar Society, The Ladies Society, and her favorite,
The St Pius X Over 55 Club, which she was a member for 43 years. Jean also loved wood carving. She
carved hundreds of "Pocket Angels" for friends and relatives because she believed that everyone should
have an angel with them everywhere they went.
Please join us in celebrating her life with a visitation starting at 5pm on Thursday, January 26, followed
by a 6pm Rosary at the Eastgate Funeral Home Chapel (1910 Eastgate Dr. Garland, Tx)
A funeral mass wil be said on Friday January 27, 12pm at St Pius X Church (3030 Gus Thomasson Dr.
Dallas, Tx) A short reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
And please join us for the internment ceremony later the same day, Friday January 27, 3pm at Calvary
Hill Cemetery (3235 Lombardy Ln. Dallas).
