August 29, 2022, Brenda “Bren” Easterwood-Collard, passed peacefully to heaven at 1:24 a.m. with her husband and partner, Jesse E. Collard, Jr. by her side. Brenda was born at 1:42 a.m. on December 7, 1952 to Nelda and Harold Ewald. Bren is survived by her husband, Jesse Collard; her mother, Nelda Ewald; her brothers, Larry and Bart Ewald; nieces Lauren and Andrea Ewald; nephews Nicholas and Noah Ewald. Paternally, she is survived by three aunts and 26 cousins; while maternally being survived by one aunt and seven cousins. Paternally, she is preceded in death by five uncles, three aunts and five cousins; while preceded in death by two uncles, one aunt, and one cousin from her mother’s, Glenewinkel family.

Bren’s life celebration and memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Rd. Dallas, TX 75220. Immediately following the service will be Bren’s inurnment in Shepherd’s Garden on the church campus; followed by a reception.

Bren was avid supporter of animal rights and actively supported PETA, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®).
