Robert "Gene" Allison, Sr. was the second child born to Hosea and Eva Allison. Gene was born in Greenville, Texas. He received his formal education in the Dallas area. Gene accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and untied with Shiloh Baptist Church of Garland Texas. In 1986 Gene and his family united with Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church where he actively served on the Finance committee, Deacon Board, Brotherhood and Choir. Gene was the self appointed maintenance and handyman, for the church facilities. Gene was employed with Sherwin Williams for 42 years. His hobbies included fishing, restoring autos and traveling. Gene was committed to his walk with God. His commitment showed in every thing he did. Gene walk was his testimony. Gene is preceded in death by his brother, Hosea Allison, Jr. Gene leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 43 years, Cynthia Battle Allison; his children, Kanika Allison-Coleman (LaMonta), Dallas, TX, Kamila D. Allison, Garland, TX, Robert G. Allison, Jr. Dallas, TX; his parents, Hosea and Eva Allison, Dallas, TX, sisters; Gladys Tyler, Dallas, TX and Nadine McDaniel (Monroe), Garland, TX, two brother-in-laws, Cephas Conrad Battle (Lillian), Chesapeake, VA and David Donald Ghist, Nashville, NC two sister-in-laws, Deborah Battle Brown, Irvington, NJ and Bernetta Ghist, Nashville, NC.; six grandchildren, Vernita, Venise, Vanessa, Victoria, Samauri and Anthony; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
