Doris Jo Crocker

Doris Crocker Born August 1, 1924 in Colin County, Texas, passed away January 19, 2019 in Dallas, Texas following a brief illness. Doris was a member of Eastridge Park Christian Church of Mesquite at the time of her death and had been for many years. She formerly was a member and secretary of Lakeview Christian Church in Dallas and served as Education director of Associated General Contractors in Dallas until her retirement. Doris loved to travel with her late husband, Wilson Crocker, and later her sister, Ninva Barkham and her children, Ginny Coppedge and Larry Crocker and had visited many different countries around the world. Doris was a woman whose life was led by her faith in Jesus Christ and she was generous to several local and foreign mission ministries, volunteering at the White Rock Center of Hope in Dallas well into her 90's. She finally gave up mowing her own yard at the age of 92 but still maintained copious flower beds and indoor plants until shortly before her death. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Wilson Crocker, whom she met and married in 1943 and her parents, Pat and Ora Montgomery of Caddo Mills, Texas, and her brother, Billy Glen Montgomery. She is survived by her daughter, Ginny Coppedge and husband, Jim, of Spencer, Indiana, and son Rev. Larry Crocker of Rockwall, Texas; grand children, Rev. Patrick W. Crocker of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Jennifer Digby (Chris) of Buda, Texas, Karen Coppedge of Indianapolis, Indiana, Amanda Dyer (Ernie) of Spencer, Indiana, Sister, Ninva Barknam of Dallas, Texas, and several great grand children and great-great grand children, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, January 24, at the Eastridge Park Christian Church, 2701 N. Town East Blvd, in Mesquite, Texas. Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Eastridge Park Christian Church or to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
