Barbara Ann Lockwood

In Loving Memory of Barbara (Corey) Lockwood, who went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 11, 2018 at 5:54 in the morning. She was preceded in death by her husband, and the Love of her life, Fredrick Philip Lockwood. She courageously battled Myelodysplastic Syndrome for the past 9 years. She was surrounded by her loving daughters and son-in-law, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Barbara was born on June 9, 1931 in Fassetts, Pennsylvania. The first child of Harry Bowman Corey II and mother, Marie (Watkins) Corey. Soon joining her family were siblings, Harry Bowman Corey III, and George LaRue Corey (Deceased), Sandra (Corey) Schell and Sister, Patricia (Corey) Shoemaker. Although, Barbara and her brother Harry Jr. were born in Fassetts, the family moved to a lovely home on Porter Rd. after a fire destroyed their family home in Fassetts, Pennsylvania. Barbara was a daddy's girl and loved to work the farm with her father. When not working the farm, she attended Troy schools and later attended Mansfield college. After College she worked at the Troy Hospital. It was during this time Barbara met the love of her Life, Fredrick Philip Lockwood. They eloped to Dallas, Texas and were married on Dec 23, 1952. They started their family in 1959, welcoming their first child, Sheri Michele Lockwood . Then in 1968, their second child Lori Autumn Lockwood. Barbara was an amazing role model and raised her children with love, patience and grace. She never met a stranger and was kind to everyone she met. While in Dallas, Barbara worked for Collins Radio, EAS Data Entry as a Manager and later Co-Owner, and as a Teacher at Richland College. She excelled as a teacher helping those that struggled in life become successful. She loved Teaching so much that she continued working well into her 70's until her diagnosis at 78 years of age. It was through Teaching, church and visits to so many wonderful places that she gained so many special friends. Barbara is survived by her Daughters, Sheri Michele Anderson and Lori Lockwood Scott (Scotty Scott) and her Grandchildren, Micheal J Bishop (Angela), Brittany Nicole Anderson (Nick), Christopher Cal Anderson (Jessica), Dalton Reese Scott, Darian Chase Scott and Great-Grandchildren, Nathan Bishop, Jonathan J. Bishop, and Natalie Nicole Bishop, Tyson Lee Anderson and Addison Paisley Anderson, Angel Anderson and Orion Anderson, and Sisters, Sandra Corey Schell (Leslie) and Patricia Corey Shoemaker and one brother, Harry Bowman Corey Jr. and many beloved Nieces and Nephews along with her beloved fur babies , Max and Gigi. There will be a Grave side service at Restland Cemetery in Dallas,Tx on September 11th, 2018 at 10:00 am. The service will be held at the Chapel Gardens directly across from the Wildwood Chapel
