Betty S. O'Malley Young, (90 years of age) passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on July 22, 2018 in Royse City, TX. She was born on April 25, 1928 in Big Springs, TX to Charles and Beatrice O'Malley. At two years old after Betty's parents passed away, she moved to Buckner Orphanage in Dallas. She had two brothers, James and John O'Malley. They were both decorated war heroes from WWII. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother to 6 children, grandmother to 14, had 20 great grandchildren and 2 great, great, grandchildren. She was a woman of many strengths. Her most priced accomplishment was raising her six children. She was full of spunk and always provided laughter to all she knew. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Billy E. Young; son Charles (Chuck) Young; and her daughter Beverly J. Williams. She is survived by daughters, Donna J. Redd (Danny) of Nevada, TX; Terri L. Young of Royse City, TX; sons Michael G. Young (Mary) of Royse City, TX; and John M. Young (Anne) of Garland, TX. She was a member of Vansickle Baptist Church in Cash, TX for the past 20 years. She was widely known as "Granny" to all. Many mornings she spent time at Burgers N Fries diner drinking coffee and keeping all the men in line. She waved her cane at them and entertained with her stories and jokes. She was deeply loved and will be surely missed by all. Services will be held Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland, TX at 10:00am Thursday July 26th. Family will receive friends on Wednesday July 25th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Eastgate Funeral Home. Graveside Service at Grove Hill Cemetery following funeral.
