John Scott Tucker

John Scott Tucker was born January 25, 1957 in Memphis, Texas to Johnny Hall Tucker and Sharlene Hurt Tucker. He was raised in Plano, Texas by his grandparents, Cassandra and Harley Hurt along with his Mother. Ever the gentleman, Scott was greatly influenced and taught many life lessons by Harley Hurt. After graduating from Plano Senior High in 1976, Scott went immediately to work at Texas Instruments for more than a decade. A career change led him to his real calling and Scott spent all of his remaining years of employment in the hospital and building maintenance field. Scott had many loves. He loved life, loved living and did so, in grand fashion – literally and figuratively. He loved people – making them happy, making them laugh – never meeting a stranger, a testament to his larger than life personality. He loved his family. His wife, Betsy, was his dream come true and to each other – they were their one and only. His son, Brennan, was his pride and joy. To his siblings, Kelly Tucker, Kim Pruitt and Stephanie Morrison, he was Big Brother. He was a respected Chickasaw Elder. Scott did not have hobbies – he had passions. They included: cars, fast ones and racing ones – both as a spectator and participant. He loved to fish - as long as he was catching something. He was an accomplished marksman, as well as a collector of new and antique firearms. On the morning of August 1, 2018, Scott suffered a massive brain aneurysm and passed away at 12:48a on August 2, 2018. Scott is predeceased by his grandparents, Cassie and Harley and his parents Johnny Hall and Sharlene as well as his best pal, The Pyr-border collie, Buddy. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Betsy and son, Brennan. Brother, Kelly and sisters, Kim and Stephanie. Step-daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Andrew Riddle. And the herd at home – Tattie, Tulla, Rusty, Cricket, Jena and McFeetz . Countless friends and co-workers are among those also missing his Light.
