Walter Thomas Czaus

Mr. Walter T. Czaus- June 26th 1936 – December 29th 2017

Walt was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Walter and Sophie A. Czaus and attended North Catholic High School. He graduated Villanova University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and received a Masters degree in Finance from Temple University. He married Mary E Hudson in 1959 and had six children later followed by 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He lived a full life marked by many accomplishments. First and foremost, he was a loving husband and father. Work was never too hard or too far to travel if the well-being of his family depended upon it. He loved his wife and was faithfully married to Mary for 57 years. As a father he made sure his children were loved, never lacking the essentials of life, well-educated and brought up in the Catholic tradition. This dedication served him well in the work world. Shortly out of college, he and his friend Ted Flint formed their own company developing chemical sealants. Later that company sold and he took up work with Teledyne. In the mid-80’s he moved to Texas and worked for Halliburton and Grant Pride Co. Success came easy to him. As a boy, he was named Newspaper boy of the year and even did a film reel with Abbot and Costello in 1953. Whatever he did, he was determined to be the best and it showed. Later in life; he enjoyed all his free time with Mary via retirement vacations and visiting his children and grandchildren. His hallmark hobby was golf. He was a long time member of Berkshire Country Club in Reading, PA and Eastern Hills Country Club in Garland, TX. In fact, anytime he was on the golf course was a good day including 6 career hole-in-ones. The yearly family golf outing was important to him as well as all sports activities his children and grandchildren participated in. His closest friends were his Golf Buddies and his Church Friends! He was a man of faith, which was evident by his years of service to his church as a Knight of Columbus, Eucharistic Minister and Lector. His Motto for living life well was; “God, Family and Hard Work”. Well done good and faithful servant of Christ!

He is survived by his 6 children: Mark & wife Theresa, Steve & wife Diane, Joe, Mary Beth & husband Brad Bimmerle, Thomas & wife Rosemary, and John & wife Samantha, 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
