Judy Ann D'Augustine

Judy Ann D’Augustine, 60, of Mesquite, Texas passed away Saturday, February 11th, 2017. She is survived by her husband, John D’Augustine of Mesquite, Texas.

Also surviving are her three brothers: Michael Rutherford, Patrick Rutherford and Charles Rutherford as well as her three sons: Brian D’Augustine, Daniel D’Augustine and Michael D’Augustine.

She is preceded in death by her father Harold Rutherford and her mother Josephine Rutherford.

Judy was born on November 18th, 1956 in Trenton, New Jersey to Harold and Josephine Rutherford. She later attended Parsippany Hills High School where she graduated in 1974. Afterward, she moved to Bloomington, IN to attend Indiana University where she graduated with a double bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Fine Arts in 1978. Judy then returned to Parsippany where should would eventually join the local volunteer ambulance department leading to her meeting her husband, John. They were married in Parsippany on October 9th, 1983. In December of 1989 Judy and John moved to Mesquite, TX where they would build a wonderful home together for them and their children. In 1999, Judy began working with the Mesquite School District as a substitute teacher where she would eventually meet many of her close friends.

Judy had a smile that could light up a room and a wonderfully contagious laugh to go with it. She was one of the most positive people you could have ever known and always showed so much compassion for everyone she knew. Judy came from a big extended family and always did her best to stay in touch with them all. Family always came first for her, and she would do anything for them. An avid reader her whole life, she always seemed to be jumping into a new book. Judy was also a huge supporter of her sons and loved seeing them succeed in their professional endeavors. John and her three sons will always remember her for her beautiful, kind spirit as well as the unconditional love she showed for them.

Visitation will be held at the Eastgate Funeral Home, 1910 Eastgate Drive, Garland, TX 75041 on Thursday, February 16th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Mass will take place the following day, February 17th, 5:30pm at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 950 Trails Pkwy, Garland, TX 75043 with Father Joseph A. Mehan, Jr. officiating.
