Leonard Grandy Esler was born in Marion, Indiana on February 27, 1926 and passed away on January 25, 2017. He is survived by his daughters Martha Crawford (Jim) of Ballinger, Texas, Jenny Esler of Glenn Heights, Texas and Sandy Wildermuth (Ron) of Garland, Texas, his granddaughter Amy Miner (Steve). his grandson Jeff Wildermuth (Amy), his greatgrandsons Alex and Jacob Miner and his brother Phillip Esler (Dorine).Leonard was a veteran of World War II. He enlisted in the Marines on his seventeenth birthday in 1943. He was wounded during the invasion of Iwo Jima and was awarded a Purple Heart. Burial will be at the DFW National Cemetery at Dallas, Texas. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
