Travis Edwards, at age 79, passed away in Dallas, Texas following complications from open-heart surgery. He is survived by his loving wife, Fran Edwards of Garland, TX, son, Steve Edwards of Garland, TX, daughter, Tami Edwards-Witt and her husband Russ Witt of Quinlan, TX;

Grandchildren: granddaughter, Stephanie Etheridge and her husband Josef Etheridge of Colorado Springs, CO, grandson, Christopher Edwards and his wife, Dianna Edwards of Garland, TX and granddaughter, Kylee Witt of Quinlan, TX Great-Grandchildren: Logan Edwards, London, Hadley and Harper Etheridge of Colorado Springs, CO, and Abigail, Chris Jr. and Ava Edwards of Garland, TX; Brother: Arlie Edwards and his wife, Darlene Edwards of Wills Point, TX

Travis was born in Meadow, Texas in 1937. He grew up in Oak Cliff, Nevada and Garland, TX. He graduated from Garland High School in 1955 and was in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. Travis married Fran at Orchard Hills Baptist Church on April 22, 1961 and they were happily married for 55 years and 8 months.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Coll Nicholson Edwards and Winnie Maude Sellers-Edwards, grandson, Stephen Scott Edwards, Jr. 7/29/81

Travis worked in electronics, real estate brokerage and sales and construction in apartment building until retirement. Travis has enjoyed being a volunteer at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas for the past 12 years. The other volunteers and staff called him the "Candyman" because he always had candy for everyone. Travis was a fine, Christian man, who always had a smile for everyone and helped wherever and whomever he could. He will be dearly missed by many.
