Jose Y. Juarez, 89, just shy of his 90thbirthday, Jose Ysabel “Chabelo” Juarez, 89, of Garland, died December 29, 2016 surrounded by family while atTexas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. He was adedicated andloving son,brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather.

The family wishes to express appreciation and blessings to the family, friends, neighbors, doctors, nurses, caregivers, and colleagues for the love and outpouring of support received over the course of his life.

Chabelo, as he was affectionately known, was born February 13, 1927, in Rio Hondo, Texas, to Jose Atkinson and Blasita Sandoval Juarez.

He lived throughout the United States including the Valley in South Texas, as well as, Indiana and Illinois before finally settling in Grand Prairie and eventually Garland, Texas.

He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and history of years long gone by, as well as, fishing, hunting, telling jokes and spending time with his beloved wife and family.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Maria del Refugio “Cuquita”; daughters Blasita J. (Goyo, Goyo Jose, Isabella Ariadne, Maya Isela & Blas Esteve) Lopez and Jessica (Juan, David Abel & Juanluca) Ramirez, as well as, sons Richard Harris (Lupita), Hector Harris (Anne), Delila Rhen, Eloy Harris (Patrice), and Ricky Harris.Chabelo is also survived by his siblings Magdalena J. Ryan (Jerry), Eudelia J. Herrera; Rosita J. Leal; Narcisco Juarez (Maria Luisa); Leonardo Juarez

(Santos); and Antonia J. Mchaffey.He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Joseph Harris; siblings Adela Anzaldua, Josefina Carrisalez, Jesusa Ochoa, Elidia Cortez, Rodolfo S. Juarez and Ismael S. Juarez.

The Juarez family will receive guestson Saturday, December 31 from 10 am to noon.A chapel service by Rev. Deacon Joe R.
