Delma was born in Keota, Oklahoma on February 13, 1933 to Effie (Sasser) and Mack Bollinger. She was married on December 7, 1953 in Santa Ana, California to James E. Carter, Sr. She attended Baylor School of Nursing obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Her favorite job through the years was being a wonderful wife, mother and sister.Delma passed away peacefully with her family at her side. She was the beloved and most cherished wife of 63 years to James E. Carter, Sr. who was also her caregiver for 13 years. Loving mother to James Jr. (Julie); Billy (Kelly); Keith (Shanti); Gwenda; Kenny; Terri. Grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and beloved brother Leon Bollinger (Rita) and multiple nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Effie and Mack Bollinger, brother Billy Don and her sister Betty J. Simpson.Friends and family will be received for viewing at Eastgate Funeral Home located at 1910 Eastgate Drive Garland, Texas 75041 on December 6, 2016 from 6-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church 801 West Avenue D Garland, Texas. A private interment will follow at 1:15 pm at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
