Happy Forgey

Martha "Happy" Brocchus Forgey, born December 18, 1936, in Magnolia, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and close loved ones on February 1, 2016, after battling complications from COPD for several years. She is survived by her daughters, Paige Forgey Yonker, of Wylie, Texas and Amy Forgey Humphries of The Colony, Texas; a grandson, Jason A.Humphries of The Colony, Texas; a sister, Sammy Jo Wepfer, of Katy, Texas; and many loving friends, including her former husband, Richard H. Forgey, of Tyler, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Harold Forgey, Jr., of Magnolia, Arkansas.

Happy grew up in Magnolia, Arkansas where she graduated from Magnolia High School and attended Southern Arkansas University. She moved to Tyler, Texas in the early 1960's where she raised her two lovely daughters and participated in many charitable activities. She was active in the Tyler Junior League, Garden Club, Bridge Club and her Sunday School Class at Marvin United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Happy's Life is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 in the Chapel at the First United Methodist Church located at 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas, 75080. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Happy's memory to First United Methodist Church, Richardson, Texas, which welcomed her as one of its newest members this year and supported her and her family in her final days. Happy never met a stranger and was a friend to all. She was greatly loved and she will live on in our hearts forever: free and at peace in Heaven.
