Shirley A. White, 68, died October 19, 2015 at her home in Plano, TX. She was born September 22, 1947 in Elba, Alabama in her Granny and Papa's home. Shirley grew up in Columbus, Georgia. During her High School years, her father went back to night school to earn his diploma and together they walked the stage and graduated in 1965 from Jordan High School, a memory they both cherished. Shirley met Phillip White at Edgewood Church of Christ in Columbus, Georgia where he was stationed at Ft. Benning. They married after Phillip's service in the Vietnam War in August of 1967. Shirley was a dedicated and devoted member of the Prestoncrest Church of Christ where she served and cared for the babies in the nursery for over 20 years. She carried on this ministry in her home daycare where she loved and nurtured many young children that knew and loved her as their "She-She." Shirley was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Phillip G. White and her father, Young S. Bedsole. She is survived by her mother, Martha Jean Bedsole of Warner Robbins, Georgia; her children, Stephanie French and her husband, Sean of Sachse; Melissa Yarbrough and her husband, Matt of Frisco and Marcus White and his wife, Melanie of Dallas. Shirley is also survived by 4 grandchildren Garrison, Peyton, Kamdyn and Ryan. She was looking forward to the birth of a new grandson in April to Marcus and Melanie. She is also survived by her sister, Meshaun Walicek of Warner Robbins, Georgia and her nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Prestoncrest Church of Christ, 12700 Preston Road, Dallas TX 75230. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prestoncrest Church of Christ and/or The National Kidney Foundation.
