John Norvil Jr. passed peacefully on August 30, 2014 at his home in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by his family. John was born November 25, 1940 to John Norvil and Daisy Faulstich Norvil in Gary, Indiana. John served four years in the United States Air Force at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas. He attended Texas Technological College, now Texas Tech University, studying computer operations. During his career, he was manager of computer operations at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana and at Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond, Louisiana. John enjoyed sports as an athlete and a coach. He coached multiple sports at St. Pius X Catholic School. He also enjoyed barbequing for family gatherings. John is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gayle Norvil; son, Tony Norvil and wife, Darla, of Sidney, Texas; daughter, Kristen Hunt of Cedar Park, Texas; son, Robert Norvil of Venus, Texas; son, Chris Saraceni and wife, Jerilyn, of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Amy Saraceni of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Jodie Stephens and husband, Derek, of Granbury, Texas; granddaughter, Megan Norvil of Weatherford, Texas; grandson, Stephen Hunt and wife, Hailey, of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Heather Hunt of Cedar Park, Texas; granddaughter, Madison Mills of Dallas, Texas; and great granddaughter, Avery Stephens of Granbury, Texas. He is also survived by sisters, Ursula Loeffler of Lynn, Texas; Joan Bresnan of Williamsburg, Virginia; and father-in-law, John Zimmerman of Dallas, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:00 am at Eastgate Funeral Home, 1910 Eastgate Drive, Garland, TX 75041 followed by inurnment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
