Frank Howard Pierce

Frank Howard Pierce was born on June 11, 1931, to John and Myrtle Pierce in the family home outside of Waxhaw, North Carolina. He was the seventh of nine children. He spent his childhood working on the family farm and entered into the Army at the age of seventeen. After he completed his military service, he began college and climbed power lines during the summer months. He married Nell Joan Estep Pierce on June 20, 1957. For 56 years, he fulfilled the marriage vows that he made before God and men. He and Joan adopted six children and blessed their lives. He attended Abilene Christian University and majored in Bible with a minor in Speech. He was also a Dale Carnegie graduate. He taught many ESL classes. He also authored a Bible correspondence course on the book of Acts and a book of idioms in order to teach foreign students the English language and to explain American idioms. His most important accomplishment was being a child of God, and he loved to teach the Bible. He served as a minister and missionary in Mullinville, Kansas; Waurika, Oklahoma; Electra, Texas; Azle, Texas; Lakeland, Florida; Seagoville, Texas; Crandall, Texas; and the countries of Malaysia and Sri Lanka. He was a member of Lions Club and was also a Boy Scout Master. If you needed something done, Frank was the man to ask. If you needed a scripture quoted, Frank was the man to ask. If you needed advice, Frank was the man to ask. We will dearly miss Frank?a man of God, a devoted husband, an amazing father, a dear brother and a loyal friend.
