Wanda Louise Cross was born on July 11, 1940 and slipped away quitely on May 30, 2013 to the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Wanda rarely met a stranger and during her 21 years as manager of The Pioneer Park Place Apartments in Balch Springs she touched many lives and made numerous friends. She will be greatly missed. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents: Benjamin F. Boyd and Hildreth I. Boyd, son: Randall Jack Powell, Daughter: Cynthia Joyce Powell and step-daughter: Shannon Cross. She is survived by her husband Art Cross, son: Rusty Powell, Grandson: David Cross, brothers: Joel R. Boyd and wife Maudeen, James C. Boyd and wife Susan, John D. Boyd and wife Sallye, sister: Connie Steagall and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday June 3rd from 6-8 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Home, 1910 Eastgate Drive, Garland, TX 75041. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 4th at the Christian Center of Mesquite, 4401 E. Cartwright Road, Mesquite, TX 75181.
