Billy Shanz of Waco, Tx went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2013. He was born in Hutchins, Tx on January 30, 1944 to J.R. and Ida Lee (Gressett) Shanz. His family moved to Rylie, Tx in January of 1946 where he lived until moving to Waco in 1990. There he started his own commercial roofing company, Interstate Roofing, and continued until last week. Billy was preceded in death by his dad in 1981, his loving and wonderful mother in 1989, his brother Johnny (A.J.) in 2009, his sister Clara Lucille in 1936, his brother at birth in 1940, his great nephew Brian in 2005, and his brother-in-law Forest Lee Simmons in 2008. He is survived by Johnny (Sharon) and Jackie (Gaby) Shanz, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister Mary Simmons, nephews and famiies. A memorial service to celebrate Billy's life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 18, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Kleberg, Tx located at 13248 Elmspring Road in Dallas, Tx 75253. Officiating will be Pastor Wayne Gilcrease and friends.
