Mrs. Nelda Stevens, age 79, passed away June 22, 2018 due to complications from a stroke. She was born in Red River County, TX to Erbin and Imogene Drake. She was married to Clovis Stevens for 45 years before God took him from her. For the last 15 years, she has anxiously awaited to be reunited with him. She is preceded in death by her father, Erbin Drake and oldest sister, Dorothy Mitchell. She is survived by two children, Dale Stevens and Brenda Stevens, three grandchildren, Tiffany White, Whitney Meyer and Scott Stevens, and three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Macyn and Evelyn. She is also survived by her mother, Imogene Drake, age 98, and her baby sister, Ellen Touchstone. After having two children, she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Texas Woman's University and worked as a Registered Nurse at Medical City Dallas Hospital. In her spare time, she had many interests and hobbies, including gardening, sewing, ceramics, woodworking, and new delightful creations in the kitchen. Nelda contracted polio at age 4 and suffered the effects of the disease throughout her life.
