Gretchen Shaw, age 86 of Dallas, TX passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord on April 17, 2018.

Gretchen was born to Marjorie and George Gregor in Buffalo, NY in 1931 and later attended Smith College in Massachusetts. Shortly there after she married her first husband Fred Whaley and they had two sons and they moved to Texas in 1957. Gretchen remarried Joseph Shaw in 1974 and they remained married until Joseph’s passing in 2005.Gretchen is survived by her children Jeff Whaley of San Francisco, CA & Scott Whaley of Dallas, TX, and grandchildren Kelly and Stephanie Whaley of Dallas, TX.

Gretchen worked in the apparel industry for many years, then later in the travel business. She then volunteered for 25 years at St Paul’s Hospital in the auxiliary service and served two terms as the chairman of that group. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother andfriend, always putting others before herself.She had the most generousloving heart and touched many lives with her presence. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Gretchen’s remains will be in eternal rest next to her husband Joseph Shaw at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery.
