She was born July 2, 1928, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Truett Lanius Naylor and Mildred Woodward Naylor. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James “Farrell” King; son Jeffery “Jeff” Farrell King and daughter in law Jan Jameson King of Wildwood, MO; daughter Julie King of Dallas, TX; grandson Ryan Farrell King of Dallas, TX; grandson Adam Jeffery King, granddaughter in law Amy Jo Brandt King and great granddaughter Anna Jo King of Columbia, SC; and Elizabeth Boyle May of Dallas, TX, her Goddaughter, whom she introduced to others as her daughter. Being the daughter of a Kindergarten teacher, Mary Jane learned to read at the young age of four and was an avid reader, often reading three novels a week. She and Farrell met at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1950 and was an active member of Tri Delta sorority. She and Farrell have been members of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church since 1976, where she served on the Memorial Fund Committee, answered the phone and greeted visitors on Monday afternoon and was a member of Presbyterian Women and the Garden Club. She was a lifelong caregiver – first as Jeff and Julie’s Mother; later to both her parents, being an only child; to her maternal Aunt and Uncle, who didn’t have children; and to her husband Farrell, especially once he retired from Ford Motor Company. She encouraged everyone whom she shared her life with her kind words and deeds. A memorial service will be held Monday February 5, 2018, at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church at 2:00 pm.
